Jon: I really love the arrangement of this strip.  It's a very common thing you'll see in these strips, actually: establishment, conflict, resolution.  Now, I want you to reflect for a moment: isn't this sort of your life?  That's what I thought.  This is the human condition at its raw, passionate core.  It was very important for Justin and I to eschew all the superficialities and cultural mannerisms, and cut straight to something wonderful.  It's just like peeling a pear.  The pear's skin bears an awful lot of bitterness and resistance; trying to bite through it is an awfully barbaric thing to do.  The preferred method is to shave it gently with the softest of the vegetable peelers in your personal kitchen.  What is left in your hand is something bare, yet undisturbed, un-brutalized.
