Jon: At last, the catharsis. Rodney, Todd, and the rest of our Hangin' Out kinda friends seem to have settled rather nicely into their new home for the next four years. What lies ahead is a world of adventures for the Hangin' Out Gang. It's all just beginning, and we'd love for you to be a part of the Gang.
Now, it's important that we
take a moment to finally, and definitively, talk about what the Hangin' Out Gang
is all about.
The most common misconception about the Hangin' Out Gang is that it's supposed
to crack fun at these people. It most certainly isn't. It's a celebration of
innocence. We may not tell any jokes with cruel or offbeat humor. We may not
have them say or do anything that's funny to you. But you know what? It doesn't
matter, because the Hangin' Out Gang is having oodles of fun whether you like
them or not.
Justin: And that's
what's important, really. If nothing else, I'd like our comic to serve as a lone
bouy amidst a sea of jaded youth counter-culture. As a nation, we're far too
fixated on the notion of putting something down for our own good. Years down the
road when we look back on our lives and contemplate whether or not what we've
accomplished has made a difference in anyone's life both Jon and myself would
agree that instilling a sense of confidence and self-worth into our readers is
worth far more than a few cheap laughs derived from a poorly worded rant
detailing the various ways in which Halo is more like Galo. Outsiders may try
and lambaste the Hangin' Out Gang for their laissez-faire attitudes and ability
to have a good time regardless of circumstance, but maybe what they don't
understand is that the kids in our strip have the bigger picture figured out.
Life's too short to be concerning one's self with minute annoyances. The most we
can hope for is to try and have a good time while we're here, and that's just
what the Gang is doing.
Jon: I couldn't agree more.
