Plot summary: Yogi
originated as a back-up segment for The Huckleberry Hound
show. The premise is that he's a bear who lives in the
park, and for whatever reason really enjoys pic-a-nic
baskets. All of his time is spent trying not to get in
trouble with Ranger Smith, while at the same time being
followed around by his stick-in-the-mud, jiminy cricket
wannabe friend, Boo Boo. All the man wanted were the
pic-a-nic baskets! That's it. He didn't even care what
was inside. Some punk ass teenagers could've taken a crap
in the pic-a-nic basket, then left a $20 hanging out of
the lid just slightly so someone would come along, try to
take the money, and get a face full of poo. Yogi wouldn't
have cared. He would've just been happy to get the
pic-a-nic basket, without Ranger Smith finding him and
giving him The Big Hibernation. (more)

Comments: Everyone
knows that Yogi's character and look were based on Ed
Norton from "The Honeymooners." So it's only
natural that he be outfitted with a shapeless hat at all
times. And Yogi was a man of a certain upbringing, so it
just wouldn't be kosher for the anthropomorphic bear to
run around the park all day without a tie. But. . .why'd
he have the collar? I mean, couldn't the bear just wear
the tie around his neck? Was it necessary to give him the
very top part of a shirt, and not the rest. He looks like
one of those yuppie douchebags that wear a shirt that's
like, baby blue, but with a stiff with collar and
sleeves. It doesn't work for them, and it doesn't work
for Yogi. I mean, Cindy Bear proved that you can just dye
your fur unnaturally for the sake of fashion, 'cause she
certainly didn't fall out of the womb that particular
shade of purple. So there's no reason Yogi couldn't have
had a white fur shirt. Then again, Cindy Bear wore a
collar and no shirt as well, so nevermind.
