Plot summary:
"Josie and the Pussycats" is an all-girl
animal-themed pop group who inadvertently end up mired in
Hanna-Barbera quality mysteries while on tour, thanks
largely in part to their huge entourage which includes a
brother/sister comedy duo, Freddie from Scooby-Doo on
steroids, and a cat possessed by the long-dead soul of
Muttley the snickering dog from Wacky Races.
Even when not traveling around with intent to solve petty
mystery, Hanna-Barbera characters often find themselves
on the ass-end of trouble because of their tendency to
travel in herds. The people on "Speed Buggy"
numbered in the half-dozen despite the fact that their
anthropomorphic beach vehicle clearly only comfortably
seated two. Shaggy and Scooby weren't paranoid because of
drug abuse; they were paranoid from claustrophobia and
the fact that they had to sit in the back of the Mystery
Machine regardless of the lack of rear seating. It's just
poor planning on the part of the characters, and the
Pussycats are no different. It's like MC Hammer. They
travel around with a posse, so they have to pay everyone
in the posse. Maybe they already realize it. Maybe that's
why the pussycat costumes have long sleeves but no legs. (more)

Comments:
Melody joins KISS drummer Peter Criss in the popular
culture cat drummer hall of fame. In the cartoon Melody
is the comic relief, which in HB language means she's
either a coward or astonishingly dumb. Melody's case is
the latter. A lot of people think she's dumb because
she's blonde, and given my love of hilarious observation
I'd have to agree. Here are a few of my favorite blonde
jokes:
Q: What does a blonde owl say?
A: What, what?
Q: What is the blonde's favorite potato
chip?
A: Free to lay.
Q: What do you call four blondes in a
Volkswagen?
A: I'M RICK JAMES BITCH
