Hadji (1964)

Cartoon
Jonny Quest
The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest

Animal
Mystical wet blanket

Outfit: turban / Yul Brenner jacket

Tagline: "Jonny, I do not think that is a good idea!"

Plot summary: The show "Jonny Quest" was also known as "Lil' Tenenbaums", and starred Jonny as a young Royal Tenenbaum and Hadji as Pagoda. His passive, static personality and dark skin suited him perfectly for the role of Jonny's shadow. If Hadji were a character in a fighting game, his special move would be to sit in an airplane seat and giggle while getting licked by a dog. (more)

User Comments: Hadji belongs to the fraternity of wet blankets. He, Chuckie Finster from Rugrats, and Martin Lawrence from every role he's ever played sit in their frat house huddled around an electrical socket while they take turns pretending to stick a metal fork in it and yelling I DO NOT THINK THAT THIS IS SUCH A GREAT IDEA.

Since Indians are a "model minority", Hanna-Barbera was able to get away with starring a boy from Bombay, but in order to perpetuate stereotypes they were forced to make him an orphan who practiced voodoo. If "Jonny Quest" is to be believed, all Indo-Chinese reside in underground lairs and plot schemes to blow up the world, all blacks are loinclothed pygmies who shoot spitwads and roll boulders down mountains, and it is the white man's burden to kill them all. If they are able to kill them in under 22 minutes, they are required to spend the remainder of their time waiting for Bandit to be scared of a tree or piss on someone's shoes, and then look toward the sky and yell HA HA HA HA HA HA HA until it is time for the closing credits.
