Plot summary: I cannot stress to you enough the need to solve every crime and mystery ever committed. Case in point, the Funky Phantom.

Mudsy was a ghost that haunted the Muddlemore mansion. He slept in the grandfather clock and had never been woken up. One day three teens turned the hands on the clock to twelve and when the clock started to bong. Mudsy woke up. Along with his cat Boo and the teens they solve crimes and defeat bad guys. Despite the fact that the Funky Phantom ghost appeared to be some weird amalgamation of dead minuteman and dead Snagglepuss ("It's the Spirit of 1776 even, at your service!") and despite the fact that Funky Phantom's cat had all the teens straight trippin', the mystery was always solved and gas and time were always wasted.

User Comments: As mentioned above, the Funky Phantom was voiced by the guy who voiced Snagglepuss, which in Hanna-Barbera terms means that the two characters had the exact same voice. You know, like Starscream and Cobra Commander. And Snagglepuss was (ignoring Paul Lynde's performance as Templeton in the "Charlotte's Web" cartoon) the most over-the-top homosexual animal ever. I know somebody's got a nature film of Snagglepuss in the fucking Veldt like sneaking up on a zebra and then fucking pouncing on it and railing it in the ass. This leaves us to deduce that Mudsy, the Funky Phantom, was indeed gay in the 18th century. This also explains why he's a ghost in full uniform and doesn't look more than 35.

Take these lyrics into consideration, from the "Funky Phantom" theme song:

We found a friend, friend, friend in Funky Phantom
He'll pop right in just when you need him most

I guess this gives new meaning to "the British are coming."
