Plot summary:
One of the best Hanna Barbara cartoons of all time,
"The Wacky Races" featured a group of race car
drivers competing for the title of "World's Wackiest
Racer." Each cartoon the drivers had to overcome a
series of ridiculous and unrealistic obstacles set into
motion by Dick Dastardly, a bizarre kind-of European hate
monger who compensated for racing skill by building road
blocks with his snickering dog. Each episode Dick would
get his "just deserts" and finish dead last,
powerfully enforcing the fact that mustachioed racers
always hit the wall in the end.

than just a clever euphemism for an unusually large
penis, Dick rocked the trench decades before the
Columbine kids used their BFG9000s to mow down
unsuspecting Christians. And his unique color scheme set
the tone for the Toronto Raptors NBA expansion team.
Dastardly carried on the look into his own spin-off
cartoon, "Dastardly and Muttley in their Flying
Machines." The show followed their quest to
intercept carrier pigeons during World War I. So in
addition to giving the show the most unimaginative name
in the history of television, Hanna-Barbera decided that
it'd be a good idea to blame the assassination of
Archduke Franz Ferdinand and the subsequent horrors of
humanity on that guy from Wacky Races who can't keep his
shit together.
