Doggie (1959) Cartoon
The Quick Draw McGraw Show
Animal
Doggie
Outfit: T-shirt
Tagline: "Dear
ol' Dad!"
Plot summary: Basically
Augie Doggie could've been saved a lot of stress if
talking dogs in the fifties had some kind of a
"Planned Parenthood" program. He was an
unwanted child who was abandoned by his mother and left
to toil through life with a simpleton father who meant
well but did little more than make shocked face at a
situation and go A CHA CHA CHA. Augie is a smart little
guy, who will probably suffer greatly when his dad
becomes infected with rabies, the RAGE of doggies. (more)

Comments: A
puppy in a t-shirt. It could be worse. They could've been
racist and made him Chinese, and had him say things like
AHHh-SO and SO SORRY from beneath one of those hats like
Raiden wears in the Mortal Kombat games. It's actually
quite shocking that Hanna-Barbera missed out on this
opportunity, because frankly it would be a lot easier to
come up with something funny to say about, like, a Polish
dog. What does a Pollock dog do when he has a grenade
thrown at him? HE LICKS HIS BALLS.
In a related note,
"AUGIE DOGGIE" is what Lucy says when Snoopy
kisses her on the cheek.
