Andy LeBeau (1982) Cartoon Animal
Outfit: tunic / halo (combat evolved) / angel wings / last rites Tagline: "What'chu talkin' bout, Dead Willis?" Plot summary: In 1982 Gary Coleman teamed up with one of my favorite actors, Head Nigga in Charge Robert Guillaume, for the made for TV movie "The Kid with the Broken Halo," about a young black child who keeps dicking around during angel training until he's denied entrance to Heaven. The Archangel Michael (Guillaume) has pity on the kid (Coleman) and gives him one more shot: If he can help out enough people on Earth he can get into Heaven. Hanna Barbara decided this would be a great idea for an ongoing series, forgetting one important thing: the movie was only seen by like four people. So, outside of context, they ended up with a cartoon show about Gary Coleman being dead. What killed him, you ask? That remains a mystery, but I like to think it was a "diff'rent stroke." (more) User Comments: It's hard to even type anything about this show without resorting to the "pop culture enthusiast" cliché of going WTF WHY IS THE GHOST OF GARY COLEMAN HELPING CHRISTIANS SORT OUT PROBLEMS IN THEIR LIFE. It's hard to avoid rambling on about these things in sarcastic VH1 personality voice sometimes, so I'll do my best to steer clear of the unnecessary observational humor and ask politely where the fuck angel Arnold was when Dudley was having a bike horn stuck up his ass. Now, moving on from that, his angel gear is standard issue. You figure if they knew he'd be running around on Earth they'd have given him some of those strappy sandals. I guess they didn't want to give him shoes because, as a little black kid, there's a good chance that he'd be using his angelic powers to help his favorite sports team win. I just wish somebody at Cartoon Network had the guts to do a show about Earthlings having their digestive problems solved by a demonic Dana Plato. User Rating:
