Tourette's Guy was a series of online video clips that examined the life of a Tourette's syndrome sufferer known only as Danny. Danny, a balding, overweight man in his forties, also suffered from alcoholism. The videos took an exclusively humorous tone; the humor was largely derived from Danny's outrageous and profound commentary as well as slapstick. The site has been notoriously silent regarding details about Danny. Though claims of his Tourette's syndrome is believable, it is unclear how much of the content is unadulterated documentary, and how much is scripted or planned.
Days ago, the Tourette's Guy staff announced that he recently passed away due to complications stemming from a car accident a few weeks earlier. A considerable amount of speculation exists concerning whether this news is true or not. At this point, however, this speculation is unfounded, and I do believe he has passed away.
I have been a fan of Tourette's Guy for some time now, and of course was saddened by the news. Within this feature, I argue that despite Danny's real-world difficulties, mundane lifestyle and early death, he lived a full life and experienced everything that makes one truly human.
