hey all this is mike jones on the road with shinoda and the rest of the boyz from linkin park. right now i'm in tampa where our U.S. tour is about to blow up. this my first journal entry ive ever done. i feel real lucky to be hanging out with these guys, i'm learning so much more about music. until a few months ago i had never heard a rock song in my life. they showed me a gitar (sp?) and i thought it was a rather inefficient bong.
i'm just in a real creative mood though. they've shown me a whole other side of music. i've been checking out great bands like nickelback and staind, stuff you can't hear on the radio. at least i can't. my stereo's knob has rusted in place and won't move from hot 102 fm. one time the bass gitar (sp?) player tried to turn it to npr and it short circuited and electrocuted him. we dedicated a song to him on it called "the pain inside". my part was actually more about flossin bling than being sad about my friend getting electrocuted but they said it didn't matter cause i'm just doing my thing. these guys are awesome, they're probably the most inovative (sp?) band out there.
we have lots of fun with each other too. this whole "frat boy" culture is really cool. we watch jackass all the time them niggas crazy. they also play a game on the tour bus while on the road where they see who can take the biggest shit. they call it "linkin logs".
anyway, meeting these guys is the best thing that's ever happened to me as a music artist. i can really feel my career going in a better direction. i can't wait to get together with ludacris and t.i. and all my homies oldin it down in TX and tell them all the great stuff i've learned.
