Plot summary: Solomon Grundy born on a Monday
Murdered and disposed of in Slaughter Swamp on Tuesday
Reanimated as a super-strong zombie on Wednesday
Battled the original Green Lantern on Thursday
Joined the Legion of Doom on Friday
Realized he was on a team with a mean deep sea diver and a guy from "Gorilla
City" on Saturday
Pretty much just a zombie without any real logical way to fight somebody like the freaking
Superman on Sunday
Thats the end of Solomon Grundy (no more)
User Comments: Despite teaming with a
collection of super geniuses (Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Gorilla Grodd) Solomon was easily the
wisest. In fact, in one episode he determines which mother should have custody of a
newborn baby by going "NAAARRRR SOLOMON GRUNDY WANT BABY" and leaping out of a
window. He's a fucking Cajun zombie, that's his power, what do you expect? Other than
being born at the absolute worst possible time for Garfield all the guy can do is stagger
around and lift stuff.
His uniform is exactly what it should be. He looks like he went down to the Grundy County
Auction and he saw something he just had to have: a tattered sport coat. Solomon was
originally killed in the late 19th century, so I'm not sure why he's dressed like Gothic
Don Johnson, but it works.
The best thing about Grundy on the Superfriends as opposed to newer "Justice League
Unlimited" Grundy is the voice acting. New Grundy is voiced by Mark Hamill and speaks
in a low grumble. Superfriends Grundy was Larry the Zombie Cable Guy. He's not coming to
get you, Barbara, he's coming to GIT R DONE. He's not even Cajun. It's like they got Slim
Pickens to do his voice. When the character dies in the comics he returns with a different
aspect of the original man's personality. This explains why he's sometimes smart,
sometimes dumb, sometimes good and sometimes bad. Hopefully next time he shows up on
Justice League Unlimited it will be to trick Booster Gold into overstating the obvious and
then hand him a sign.
