(Magic investigates and discovers the Foxes wedding procession)

(observes a happy marriage)

(rushes home)

MOTHER
You went and did... something you shouldn't have. I can't let you in now. An angry fox came looking for you. He left this.

MOTHER
You're supposed to kill yourself.

MAGIC JOHNSON
But my fans...

MOTHER
Go quickly and ask their forgiveness. Give the needles back and tell them how sorry you are. They don't usually forgive. You must be ready to die. Get going. Unless they forgive you, I can't let you in.

MAGIC JOHNSON
I can't give them back.  Not now.  I can't make what has happened go away.   I don't know how to say I'm sorry.

MOTHER
You'll find out how. On days like this there are always rainbows.
