The year was 1994. The event was UFC 4. (UFC 4! Single digits!) Way back in those formative days of semi-legal cage fighting, things like knees to a downed opponent were still allowed. And things like groin shots. Just unrestrained, bare-knuckle punches directly to the beanbag, plums and/or nards.
Keith Hackney is the guy in black, the one pounding on the other guy's varsity grapes. Joe Son is the guy in red thong, the guy on the bottom. The guy getting his gonads ruptured. Hackney won in 2:44 (there weren't rounds back then) due to submission from groin strikes.
He won when he punched the other guy in the nuts more times than the other guy cared to be hit in said nuts. What a thing the UFC used to be.
Joe Son played the guy who throws a shoe in Austin Powers. He is currently serving life in prison for rape, torture and murder. Maybe he should have been punched in the groin a little more.
